UKStamps - Database & Stamp Catalogue 1840 - 2013

This App is the latest essential for the keen philatelist giving you a unique database for British stamps. You can record those you already own (mint or used) along with their cost and current estimated market value. You can enter a unique reference or catalogue number for each item. A summary page indicates how many stamps you have and their total cost and value. A handy link to the Internet allows you to search for those elusive stamps needed to complete your collection. All records have an image for your reference. The initial screen will show you a table containing thumbnail photos of stamps from the period indicated in the text to the right. Tapping the disclosure chevron will take you to another table again with thumbnail photos of the stamps from the chosen period. It will also display your reference/catalogue number, the date of issue, and an indicator of whether you have the mint or used version of that particular stamp. Tapping on the detail chevron will then take you to a view which will display a larger image of the stamp you selected as well as information about that particular stamp. Detailed information includes: Stamp issue date – system provided, Stamp detailed description – system provided , Stamp Image – system provided, Stamp reference/catalogue number – user entered, Stamp Mint Cost – user entered , Stamp Used Cost – user entered, Stamp Mint Market/Catalogue Value – user entered , Stamp Used Market/Catalogue Value – user entered, Stamp Colour – system provided, Record of whether you have the Mint or Used version of this stamp – user entered There is also a handy button that links to an internet search engine Tapping on the summary button will then take you to a view which will display a summary of the data in the database Summary data includes: The total cost of the mint stamps that you have recorded in the database , The total market/catalogue value of the mint stamps that you have recorded in the database , The total cost of the used stamps that you have recorded in the database , The total market/catalogue value of the used stamps that you have recorded in the database , The total number of mint stamps that you have , The total number of used stamps that you have , The number of unique stamps in the database Using the database is very intuitive and being on a portable device makes it a very useful accompaniment during visits to stamp exhibitions and shows.
